Samuel Ortom Benue State Governor, kingsmen on Monday, called on the President, Major General Muhammad Buhari (retd.), to withdraw marauding Fulani militias from their ancestral home.
Ortom is from the Nongov extraction of the Tiv nation.
The group under the auspices of the Conference by the Nongov PDP Stakeholders also called on Federal Government to redeem the N10 billion pledge to the state for rehabilitation, reconstruction and resettlement of displaced persons in the state.
Reacting to the statements of the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs at a press conference held in Abuja recently, as well as the Ihyarev APC leaders, the group called for the creation of the North Central Development Agency to cater for the well-being of the displaced persons in the state.
According to the statement by the leader of the group, David Tsevende, the group called on the President to proscribe Miyeiti Allah Kauta Hore and other Fulani socio-cultural groups.
Part of the statement read, “We also call on the APC leaders to use their political marriage with the Fulani oligarchy to as a matter of urgency ensure the creation of North Central Development Agency to cater for the wellbeing of our distressed people and rebuild communities destroyed by Fulani militia herdsmen in Benue.
“We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to proscribe Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and other violent Fulani socio-cultural groups and order the arrest of their leaders who have publicly accepted responsibility for the carnage in our land.”
