Nigeria Association of The Blind, Ifako Ijaiye chapter celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities – 3 December

To celebrate the International Day of Disabled Persons which takes place globally every 3ed December was marked in a grand style by  the Nigeria Association of The blind  Lagos State, Ifako Ijaiye chapter to raise awareness of their existence and to promote the rights and perspectives of persons with disabilities in Nigeria and around the world

The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3.

The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

The main programme of this year 2020, started with Road walk show, took off from college Bus stop ifako Ijaiye bus-stop through Fagba Road and terminated at Ifako Ijayi LGA.

Speaking with the coordinator for Persons with a disability, Mr Anuoluwayinka Isaac he said, ‘We have a voice, that needs to be heard, Anuoluwayinke encourage his members to join with other disabled people to form a formidable voice that can not be overlooked, “united we will take our place as Nigerians,  he stated. In attendance are members of Accion Microfinance Bank Limited, Beady Nnanna CEO, Beadys word productions, members of Touch of love and lifting hands foundation friends and well-wishers.
