Munkaila Ahmadu kills father, mother with pestle

A 37-year-old man, Munkaila Ahmadu has been arrested for killing his 70-year-old father who is also the village head of Zarada Sabuwa village in Gagarawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State Ahmad Muhammad and his mother, Hauwa Ahmadu with a pestle.

The two other persons he attacked with a pestle identified as Kailu Badugu and Hakalima Amadu, however, survived with head injuries, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer for Jigawa State Command said in a statement on Thursday.

He said, “On 01/09/2022 at about 1130hrs, information received had it that, one Munkaila Ahmadu ‘m’ age 37yrs of Zarada -Sabuwa village in Gagarawa LGA of Jigawa State, used a wooden pestle and attacked the following persons; 1. Ahmad Muhammad ‘m’ age 70yrs, “a village head of Zarada -Sabuwa village”, 2. Hauwa Ahmadu ‘f’ age 60yrs, 3. Kailu Badugu ‘m’ age 65yrs, 4. Hakalima Amadu ‘f’ age 50yrs all of Zarada -Sabuwa village Gagarawa LGA.

“Upon receipt of the ugly report, a team of Policemen visited the scene of the crime and conveyed the victims to General Hospital Gumel.

“The said Ahmadu Muhammad ‘m’ and Hauwa Ahmadu ‘f’ were certified dead by Medical doctors as a result of head injuries sustained.

“While Kailu Badugu ‘m’ and Hakalima Amadu ‘f’ who sustained various degrees of injuries were admitted.

“Suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Ahmad Muhammad and Hauwa Ahmadu happened to be the biological parents of the suspect.

“The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida psc, directed that the case should be transferred to SCIID Dutse immediately for discreet investigation and possible prosecution of the culprit.”
