The city of Lagos stood still on Saturday 15th of Feb 2020 as veterans of motion pictures industry in Nigeria where honoured, recognized and appreciated for their effort for what is today the third-largest employer of labour in Nigeria, indeed it is another spectacular show by all standards as many from all phase of life attended the event.

The award of legend of Nollywood which took place at the Banquet Hall of the National Theatre Iganmu Lagos, the event was graced by Notable dignitaries led by Apostle Anselm Madubuko, Senator Dino Melaye and the honourable Minister of State for Budget and Planning, bank, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, including Nollywood practitioners, politicians, financial institutions, corporate organization and people living with disability who also received certificates of competence, having been trained in two weeks skill acquisition for various skill which empowers them to be self-reliance in the society, some of the skills are  Cinematography, Costume, Make-up, scriptwriting among others skills, preparing them fit for the motion picture industry and capable for the present digital world, the event was powered by Sterling Bank, Eco-bank and Intercontinental Distillers through their corporate sponsorship and supports.

Amongst those who received words of commendation were Nollywood actors, Segun Arinze, Ngozi Orji, Zack Orji, and other veterans for facilitating the two weeks training that saw 109 physically challenged grandaunts.

The Convener Mr Paul Obazele recalled how the journey of training /empowering 109 with soft skills a way of positioning them to reintegrate into the society to be economically viable through the support of several stakeholders, how challenging it was but he was able to scale through.

The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba commended the Convener of the Legends of Nollywood Awards Mr Paul Obazele, for using his influence to empower the people living with disability in the society.

The minister further reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s entertainment industry adding that structures are currently being put in place to bring that to reality which he promises will be made known to the motion picture industry soon.

Some of the Nollywood who grace the occasion are, zack Orji the co-convener legend of Nollywood award,   Zeb Ejiro, Prince Jide Kosoko, Patrick Doyle, Chico Ejiro, Amechi Munagor, Francis Duru, Hilda Dokubo, Segun Arinze, Fidelis Duker and Wife Temitope, Moji Oyetayo(Mama Ajasco), Favour Benson, Roseya Okwoli, Madam Obiageli Molobe, Francis Duru, Beady Nnanna ,  among others.
