Governor Ortom of Benu state has described his Kaduna colleague, Governor El-Rufai as an ethnic champion and religious bigot, the real enemy of Nigeria.
Governor Ortom made the claim in a statement sent by his spokesman, Terver Akase on Saturday, May 8 reacting to a statement credited to El-Rufai who accused Ortom of using the insecurity in his state to attack the federal government.
Ortom has described his Kaduna state counterpart as an enemy of Nigeria, a sycophant, ethnic champion, and religious bigot who hates anyone who does not share the same faith with him said El-Rufia is among the very few persons who are misleading President Buhari.
The Kaduna state governor further said Ortom was using the tactics in order to cover up what he termed as the Benue state government’s failure.
The statement noted that El-Rufai’s attack on Governor Ortom is merely to make him look good before the presidency.
Governor Ortom further accused El-Rufai of promoting insecurity in the country through his utterances. Meanwhile, the Benue government, on Thursday, May 6 approved the establishment of vigilante groups to combat the high rate of insecurity in the state.
Governor Samuel Ortom disclosed this when he briefed journalists attached to his office on the outcome of the expanded stakeholders’ meeting held at the new banquet hall of the Government House, Makurdi. Ortom said renewed attacks on the people by armed herdsmen had overstretched security agencies, stressing that his government had decided to enforce the law to establish vigilante groups.
