The committee was set up by; His Excellency: BabaJide Sanwolu the Executive Governor of Lagos state and the leaders of the SouthEast led by His Excellency Sen. The committee in diligent discharge of their assignment proceeded to the Alaba International market in the company of the Alaba international market leaders and representatives as well as other LASBCA officials from different departments and Local governments of Lagos state.

The committee went on a tour of the sites of the Demolished buildings by the Lagos state LASBCA to clearly understand and witness what was demolished and why. So Our resolve and the mandate given by the two leaders is to find a political and pragmatic settlement to this and other crises that have the potential to threaten the peace and security of the state and the well-being of all citizens in Lagos.

The technical committee has been working relentlessly towards delivering on the assignment given to them to ensure that whatever needs to be done in the immediate term is done to douse the growing tension due to this issue of Alaba International.

To that effect While immediate stop order was issued by the General Manager for Lagos State Building, control Agency; Arc. Gbolahon Oki to the Site Engineer is responsible for the ongoing perimeter fencing being constructed on the disputed demolished areas pending when we meet with the chairman to resolve the issue of the land that is been fenced so that both the people displaced and the contractor work will have their fate sorted out.

Arch. Gbolahon Oki also used the same opportunity to issue two weeks’ notice to two other marked buildings for the owners to bring them down or the Agency will step in and do the needful.

Moving forward, other manifest actions as predicated in the TOR must be activated.

Hopefully, these Other actions Obtainable in the short-term TOR will be activated when the committee meets this coming Wednesday after reviewing what the physical visit of the team must have revealed or confirmed or in-short what was learned from the physical inspection of the area.

The Committee now armed with their well-articulated TERMS OF REFERENCE TOR will move towards the medium term action and long-term solutions.

In submission: As part of the mid and long-term strategy The Committee must come out with honest FACTS deeper than social media brainwaves and a step further into the general market situations in Lagos generally and holistically for unimpeded commerce by all under the law. Access/protocols to remedies for breaches by agents of govt, marketers & outliers, protections, and consequences for abuse, including a roadmap for extension if available.
